Gift Card FAQs


Read our most frequently asked questions regarding our Gift Cards.

Gift Cards can be used in any Lidl Republic of Ireland/Northern Ireland stores, they can come in a form of a physical Gift Card or E Voucher.


No personal data will be stored on the Gift Card.

No. A top up is not possible. When the value of the card has been used it should be disposed of.

The Gift Card is valid for 5 years or until the value of the card has been redeemed.

The current balance of your Gift Card will be displayed on your last receipt. You can also see your balance at the checkout in any LIDL store or online at www.lidl.ie/giftcard

The remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card for the validity period of the Gift Card. The balance cannot be redeemed for cash.

Treat your card like cash. In case of loss, theft or misuse of the Gift Card, LIDL is not obliged to replace it. We will issue a new card if possible, as your Gift Card can be blocked before it is used for the first time. For this, the Gift Card number and the PIN will be required.

Lidl operate a bulk buying policy to ensure our Stores have full availability for all our customers. If you wish to place a larger order, please discuss this with the Store Management team and they will facilitate a special order for the amount and date of purchase you require.

The Gift Card can be used as payment in all Lidl Stores in the Republic of Ireland.

Unfortunately, no cross-country acceptance of the Gift Cards is possible.

Yes. You can pay for your purchase at any time with one or more Gift Cards.


The remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card. A cash payment is not possible. The Gift Card is valid for 5 years after the initial activation.

Yes. If the Gift Card balance is insufficient to fully pay for the purchase, you can pay the balance by cash or card.

Please get in touch with our Customer Service team at 019203010. Please have your Gift Card number on hand. We will check your card balance and your transactions.

It is not possible to transfer money on to the Gift Card. The Gift Card may only be used as payment in Lidl stores.

The followings discounts are available when ordering Corporate or Charity Gift Cards:

  • 2% if €1,000 - €4,999
  • 3% if €5,000 - €9,999
  • 5% if €10,000 +

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards


Corporate/Charity Gift Cards ordered between Monday – Friday will be posted within 48 working hours.


*Seasonal changes in demand can affect delivery lead times (Christmas etc).

Customer E-Vouchers


All customer E-Vouchers ordered between Monday – Friday will be sent within 12 working hours.

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards


Corporate/Charity Gift Cards are activated by emailing giftcards@lidl.ie after you receive your gift cards by post and payment has been received. The Gift Cards are then activated and ready for immediate use.


Customer E-Vouchers


Customer E-Vouchers are activated when sent to your email. They are ready to be redeemed straight away by using the Lidl Plus scanner in store.


Any Lidl / Branded gift cards once purchased are non-refundable / non-transferable.
